Soldiers Annual Tournament |
NOVA
Bass Anglers are proud sponsors of the Annual
Wounded Soldiers Tournament. In coordination with other local
Virginia and Maryland Bass Federation members, we started this event to
show our appreciation for those men and women wounded fighting our
Nations battles. Most of these military personnel are
recovering from their
wounds at Walter Reed Army Medical Center or Bethesda Naval Medical
Center in Washington DC. Some will remain there for extended
periods of time. This is a way for us to give them a day of
fishing and camaraderie on the Potomac River in Washington
DC. We truly believe this is just one small way to say "THANK
YOU" to our wounded service men and women. Their lives have
been forever changed because of their selfless sacrifice to serve our
country.
This
year's tournament will be held at 8:00am, June 7, 2008, at Columbia
Island Marina, adjacent to the Pentagon, in Arlington,
Virginia. Colombia Island Marina waives all launch fees for
festivities and provides food and refreshments for attendees at no
cost. They have been outstanding in their support for three
years now. If your going to fish in Washington, please us
their facilities and enjoy some of the great food. We also
would like to thank the other outstanding businesses that support this
effort and their generous support. Remember them when you're
making your next purchase. They help us tremendously!!
We invite you to come out and
join us this year. If you have the time to volunteer, please
contact Lee Branham, President, NOVA Bass Anglers at 703-236-3483 or
email hoohah_1@yahoo.com.

CTSI
has been a contributor to
this event since it started in 2004, and we could not do this without
their
outstanding support and contributions. This year the CTSI Golf Outing
was a tremendous success, raising donations to add to CTSI's
contributions to NoVa Bass Anglers' Wounded Soldiers
Tournament. All total they
provided $4,000 to this year's tournament. We'd like to pass on a
special THANK YOU to MR. CHRIS CORBETT (pictured on far left),
President of CTSI, for his support of the wounded soldiers. Also, we'd
like to thank all those who've contributed and participated in the Golf
Outing to support our efforts. We truly appreciate all that you've done
over the years in support of the Wounded Soldiers Fishing Tournament.
